Dance Faculty

 The dance faculty at Piedmont School of Music & Dance brings extensive professional experience, having performed with renowned companies like American Ballet Theatre, New Zealand Ballet, The Radio City Rockettes, Broadway productions, and Stars of the New York City Ballet. Beyond their performance careers, our instructors have also taught at prestigious institutions across the nation, including American Ballet Theatre’s Studio Company, The Juilliard School, Point Park University, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Charlotte Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, and Wake Forest University among others.

Founder & Director

In 1992, Ms. Wiley became a full-time company member of American Ballet Theatre in New York, NY. During her time in New York, she also performed with The Stars of New York City Ballet. Ms. Wiley is the founder and director of Piedmont School of Music & Dance and Piedmont Dance Theatre.

Originally from Charlotte, NC, Ms. Beamon began dancing at the age of three. After training at Piedmont School of Music & Dance, she continued her training in college at Princeton University and UNC Charlotte. Ms. Beamon is also an award-winning choreographer.

Master Teacher 

Mark Burrell, a graduate of The Juilliard School, is an American dancer and choreographer best known for his work on Broadway and abroad in productions such as Pippin, Fosse, The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, and CATS.

 While attending The Juilliard School, Mr. Wiley worked with world famous contemporary choreographers, such as Hans van Manen, Lar Lubovitch, Jirí Kylián, and Paul Taylor. Upon graduation, Mr. Wiley joined the Charlotte Ballet.

Erisa Flewell

  Sarah Ensley is a PSMD alum, class of 2012. She received top-tier training and went on to the University of South Carolina Dance Program, where she received a B.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography. While there, she performed in numerous Balanchine ballets.

   Originally from Reading, PA, Erisa Flewell, received her classical ballet training from Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, and supplemented her training in jazz, contemporary, and musical theater styles at Joffrey Ballet's Ballet/Jazz Intensive and Hubbard Street. 

Sara Miller

Morgan Scarborough

Sara began her professional dance career with the Royal New Zealand Ballet and later joined the Atlanta Ballet, where she performed both soloist and principal roles. In 2018, she became a company dancer with United Ballet Theatre. 

Recently, Sara earned her CPT and BCS through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and co-owns Proteus Fitness.

Morgan Scarborough

Morgan Scarborough, originally from Salisbury, North Carolina, received her training at the Piedmont School of Music & Dance. She continued her education at The Boston Conservatory, where she earned a BFA in Dance Performance, and went on to receive her MFA in Dance Performance from UNCG.

MAVIS SCULLY

Mavis comes from a richly artistic family and brings decades of experience in acting and dance to her work. She’s passionate about the creative process—the struggle, sacrifice, and joy it takes to make great art—and she loves helping performers connect technique with authentic inner life. A seasoned coach, director, and choreographer, Mavis has worked across nearly every genre, from plays and ballets to voiceovers and performance art, mentoring driven artists nationwide.

Began dancing at age 5 and has been teaching for over 35 years. She received a B.S. from the Ohio State University and her teaching certification through Dance Educators of America (DEA) in New York City.

Mila Wiley

As a professional dancer Tara has performed both soloist and principal roles in many classical ballets such as Giselle, Swan Lake, and The Nutcracker as well as George Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments, Serenade, and Rubies.

Mila received her training at Piedmont School of Music & Dance, Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School, and The Juilliard School in New York City. She has also trained internationally with Orsolina28 in Italy and was a trainee with Zeitgeist Dance Theatre. Mila is an award-winning performer known for her dynamic presence and theatrical interpretations, earning recognition for the emotional depth and nuance she brings to every performance.
