The dance faculty at Piedmont School of Music & Dance has extensive professional dance experience. The faculty has performed for companies such as American Ballet Theatre, San Fransisco Ballet, The Juilliard School and the Stars of New York City Ballet. In addition to their performance experience, PSMD’s instructors have a wealth of experience in teaching throughout the nation in association with institutions such as American Ballet Theatre’s Studio Company, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Charlotte Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, Wake Forest University, and other privately owned dance studios.
Founder & Director
In 1992, Mrs. Massey Wiley became a full time company member of American Ballet Theatre, New York, NY. While in New York, she also appeared with The Stars of New York City Ballet.
Performing Company Director
From Charlotte, NC where she began dancing at the age of three. After training at Piedmont School of Music & Dance, Ms Beamon continued training in college at Princeton University and UNC Charlotte.

Mark Burrell is an American dancer/choreographer best known for his work on Broadway and abroad in Pippin, Fosse, The Radio City Christmas Spectacular and CATS.

While attending The Juilliard School, Mr. Wiley worked with world famous contemporary choreographers, such as Hans van Manen, Lar Lubovitch, Jirí Kylián, and Paul Taylor. Upon graduation, Mr. Wiley joined the Charlotte Ballet
Tabitha Baker graduated from UNC Charlotte in December 2022 with a B.A. in Dance with a concentration in Education, as well as a minor in Theatre. She has been dancing for 17 years, training in ballet, pointe, modern, tap, jazz, musical theatre, and hip hop.
Camryn Bratcher was born in Durham, NC but moved at an early age to Fayetteville, NC. Her love for dance began at the age of three. Throughout the years, she has done lyrical, jazz, hip hop, modern, and tap. She was also on the dance competition team for Yvettes Dance Academy.
Amil Brothers began her dance training at the early age of two. Ms. Brothers received her dance training from Northwest School of the Arts, B.B. Dance Productions, and Piedmont School of Music & Dance. She graduated from Point Park University with her BFA in dance
Raleigh native, Alyssa Digman studied for 14-years at Triangle Academy of Dance and Premier School. Ms. Digman is a well-rounded dancer who is versatile in ballet, pointe, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and tap. Alyssa is furthering her dance education at UNC Charlotte.
Sarah Ensley is a PSMD alum, class of 2012. She received top-tier training and went on to the University of South Carolina Dance Program, where she received a B.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography. While there, she performed in numerous Balanchine ballets.
Originally from Reading, PA, Erisa Flewell, received her classical ballet training from Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, and supplemented her training in jazz, contemporary, and musical theater styles at Joffrey Ballet's Ballet/Jazz Intensive and Hubbard Street.
Kristen Flocke began her dance training at Connecticut Ballet with Brett Raphael and The Ballet School of Stamford under Stephanie Marini. In 2007, she won a bronze medal at the Youth America Grand Prix in South Carolina and went on to compete in the New York City Finals.
Chloe Gosline was born in was born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in Raleigh, NC. She studied Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and Contemporary at the North Carolina Dance Institute, Enloe High School, Broadway Dance Center, and American Dance Festival.
Elize Helbig, of Southport, North Carolina, is currently studying dance and criminal justice at UNC Charlotte. Elize has over seven years of extensive training in classical and contemporary ballet.
Morgan Scarborough is originally from Salisbury, North Carolina. Morgan received her training at Piedmont School of Music & Dance. Ms. Scarborough went on to receive her BFA from The Boston Conservatory in dance performance.
Ali Steinmetz was born and raised in Rochester, NY. She grew up as a competitive gymnast and received her ballet training from the esteemed Rochester City Ballet. She has trained in many areas; including jazz, tap, lyrical, etc.
Sarah Swanson is originally from New Jersey where she began her dance training with Princeton Dance and Theater. She has performed in many classical and contemporary works throughout her years of training.
Began dancing at age 5 and has been teaching for over 25 years. She received a B.S. from the Ohio State University and her teaching certification through Dance Educators of America (DEA) in New York City.
As a professional dancer she has performed both soloist and principal roles in many classical ballets such as Giselle, Swan Lake, and the Nutcracker as well as George Balanchine’s “The Four Temperaments,” “Serenade,” and “Rubies.”
