In 1992, Mrs. Massey Wiley became a full time company member of American Ballet Theatre, New York, NY. While in New York, she also appeared with The Stars of New York City Ballet.

While attending The Juilliard School, Mr. Wiley worked with world famous contemporary choreographers, such as Hans van Manen, Lar Lubovitch, Jirí Kylián, Paul Taylor and Igal Perry.

The dance faculty has professional dance backgrounds and have performed for such companies as American Ballet Theatre, Hungarian National Ballet Academy, North Carolina Dance Theatre, Ballet Pacifica, Louisville Ballet, Ballet Met, Zurich Ballet, Houston Ballet, Radio City Rockettes, and various Broadway productions. In addition to their performance experience, our instructors have had a wealth of experience in teaching positions throughout the nation in association with institutions such as American Ballet Theatre’s Studio Company, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Ballet Pacifica, North Carolina Dance Theatre, Ballet Theatre of New Mexico, Cardinal Ballet, Tucson Regional Ballet, Duke University and other privately owned dance studios.
Alyssa CromerHolds a BFA in Dance Performance from East Carolina University (ECU). While attending ECU, she performed and choreographed numerous pieces which were selected for performance at the American College Dance Festival. Read More
Ashlyn SumnerReceived a BFA in Dance, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from The University of North Carolina, Greensboro. She performed professionally with Louisville Ballet, NC Dance Theatre, NC Savoyards Opera and 15/501 Ballet Company. Read More
Briana BeamonFrom Charlotte, NC where she began dancing at the age of three. After training at Piedmont School of Music & Dance, Ms Beamon continued her dance training into her college years at Princeton University and UNC Charlotte.
Jessica ShafferReceived her BA on merit scholarships from University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC.) Upon graduation Miss Shaffer danced professionally with the Charlotte Checkers and NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats (Ladycats). Read More
Karmen TallKarmen began dancing at age 5 and has been teaching for over 25 years. She received a B.S. from the Ohio State University and her teaching certification through Dance Educators of America (DEA) in New York City. Read More
Katheryn WalkerReceived her BFA in dance from University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston Salem. While attending, she began an after school dance program for children who would otherwise not been able to afford classes. Read More
Matthew StewartReceived his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The Juilliard School in New York City, N.Y. Upon graduating, Stewart joined San Francisco Ballet (SFB), where he spent 9 years. Mr Stewart is a professional song writer and musician. Read More
Sheri GillerDanced professionally with Ballet Pacifica, Irvine, CA. Upon the retirement of her professional dancing career, Ms. Giller held the positions of Ballet Mistress and Principal of Ballet Pacifica’s company and conservatory. Read More
Our school’s incomparable faculty have been joined by the ranks of guest teachers from the likes of Juilliard, major metropolitan dance theatre groups and many Broadway productions. As a group, PSMD’s faculty members adhere to the School syllabus, while bringing their unique background to the studio, giving students as young as three to our pre-professionals, a broad background to meet the demands of the ever changing dance community.
